Project: In preparation of an upcoming match with one of boxing’s most recognized fighters and the launch of Nike’s Pacquiao line, we collaborated with the Nike design team to create a monolithic installation to commemorate the middle weight champ.
A four tiered pyramid was constructed over the course of two nights incorporating a steel deck structure and over 500lbs of real cinder blocks that white washed and used as skirting to create a massive focal point for the room. It took two 5 ton trucks to carry the weight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas for the pyramid installation. Along with the pyramid a series of faux concrete panels were constructed and scenic treatments applied to create the illusion that Manny himself had entered the space and punched the walls, leaving his symbol or shoes behind. Punching bags adorned the upper floors and the window was created with scenic vacuum form panels with another custom DTS print of Manny and large dimensional lettering.
The event was a big HIT!
