Project: This was a permanent remodel of the second floor area inside of a Nike Santa Monica store to incorporate the new line of Nike SB action wear.
This was the first of several permanent store and fixture makeovers that eventually spread to NY, Las Vegas and Chicago just to name a few. Over the course of 5 days we deconstructed and reconstructed the store every night in order to black out the entire ceiling with vinyl, install new ceiling neon, create and install new custom flooring and install all new fixturing.
The custom floor was created from scrap used skatelite sourced locally in southern California and cut into equal strips in our shop. We then took individual strips onsite and set up a temporary shop inside the store where we cut and laid each panel to create a multi color chevron pattern floor throughout the space. We only had two nights to complete the entire floor including all sublayers required.
New fixtures and graphics were produced and installed including a large metal footwear wall with a direct to surface printed branded chevron pattern, ceiling mounted television screens with magnetic street facing graphics center platform bench and skate railing displays, printed fabric cube graphics and vertical heritage display column used for telling the Nike SB story.
